AutoStandByPro Plus

AutoStandByPro is free to use, with no trial period and no license key required. AutoStandByPro Plus is an optional one-time upgrade that adds:

• A background service that detects user activity in every user session on the computer, not only your own.
• Separate Mouse Movement and Keyboard Pressed triggers.
• The whole “Advanced” trigger category: HTTP (Get), HTTP (Post) and Power Requests (the Simple Profile Wizard's ArgusTV options use HTTP (Get) too).
• Day/time profile scheduling (“Active On” and “Inactive On”).
• Use on up to 5 of your own computers at once with one license key (moving it to another computer).
• Priority support.

To get AutoStandByPro Plus, purchase a license key and then activate it in AutoStandByPro. You do not need to reinstall anything: Plus is activated on top of your existing installation. The license belongs to the computer, not to a Windows user: once it is activated, every user of that computer gets Plus (a copy that is already running needs to be restarted to notice it).

AutoStandByPro shows which edition you are using in the title bar of the Activity Monitor window and in the About window: “Auto StandBy Pro – Plus” with a Plus license, and a modest “Auto StandBy Pro – Free” without one. The About window also shows who a Plus license belongs to.

Plus rules without a Plus license

If a profile contains rules that need Plus (for example rules created while Plus was active, or loaded from a backup made on a Plus computer) and this computer has no Plus license, AutoStandByPro does not remove or change them. Instead, in the Rules Table:

• these rules are shown greyed out with a padlock in the Trigger column;
• they are never executed;
• if you try to modify or enable one, a message explains that it needs Plus;
• you can still delete them.

The rules stay exactly as they were saved, so they start working again as soon as a Plus license is activated.

If you upgrade from version 2.x

If you had a Plus license in version 2.x, AutoStandByPro finds it the first time it starts and activates it for you, so you do not have to type your key again. This needs an internet connection. If the title bar still says “Free” after the upgrade, activate Plus yourself: open Help > Activate Plus License and enter your license key (without internet, use the offline activation). Your rules, profiles and settings are kept either way.

After an upgrade your computer can be recognized as a new computer, so it uses one more of the 5 places of your license key until you release the old one. If AutoStandByPro says the license key has already been used on too many computers, write to [email protected] with your license key and we will free a place for you.
